If you're ever in the DC area, I strongly recommend visiting the International Spy Museum. Don't worry about the hokey "You're a spy now" introduction. There's a lot of more substantive stuff to come.
Be sure to look through the book section of the gift shop. I dare you to walk away without buying a book you didn't know existed and now need to have.
Yes! It is worthy of a stop. As a matter of fact, it will require a long stop. My wife and I had no idea that much museum was hidden in that building. I wish we would have had more time.

Good point. The introductory section makes you think that the rest of the museum will be content-light. It's anything but. You definitely need at least two hours, probably more, to see it all--but it's definitely worth it.

I teach at the NATO School in Oberammergau,DE and my students always love my TOP SECRET tie that I got at the Spy Museum. Brilliant place. For those of us in the intel biz, you have to kinda step on the "I believe" button a couple of times. My wife would look at some of the exhibits and then look at me. While I could not give her any classified info (obviously!) I would nod yes, or no, to indicate that it was on the right track or in the "Get Smart" category.
