I'm sure that I'm not the only person who read the news of a new covert action program against Iran and thought, "Hmmm, what happened to the one we should already have?"

The Iranian government was already unstable because of severe, self-imposed economic problems. So we decide to play dirty tricks on their economy and, inevitably, it comes out. Now, when Ahmadinejad tells the Iranian people that it's all the fault of the Americans, this will help them believe it and they'll be more likely to support their government against the evil outsiders.

Mojo's right. What better way could there be to discredit the opposition to Ahmadinejad than this? Is it any wonder that serious opponents of the Iranian regime run away from US offers of "help" as quickly as possible? Maybe it's part of a plan to shore up Ahmadinejad until the Bushies can gin up an invasion of Iran.
